George Darby, 66

LUBBOCK - George Darby, 66, of Lubbock, died Nov. 13, 2005, at Lubbock. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Paul officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mr. Darby was born Aug. 2, 1939, at Wichita Falls, to the late Hermond and Lillian Darby. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1957 and the University of Texas of 1961. He married Marilyn Intelmann on Dec. 12, 1964, at Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Darby worked for the Small Business Disaster Cadre for 12 years prior to becoming a longtime assistant district director of the Small Business Administration.

He served as state chairman for Young Republican's for five years and was active in the Republican Party for many years. He was formerly a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marilyn; a sister, Patsy Immel of San Diego, Calif.; three nephews; a niece; a great-niece; and two great-nephews.

The family requests memorials be to Battered Homes of Abused Wives and Children.
