Zelma and Bill

Husband- Bill Skinner & Zelma

I attended H-SU (Hardin-Simmons University) after high school and graduated in 1961 with a BS in Elementary Education. I got married in 1959 and we went to Ft. Worth and I taught school at Whitesettlement. We lived in Ft. Worth for 4 years and then moved to Waxahachie for 2 years and then Shelby, Montana for 5 years and to Brookings, SD for 8 years. We divorced in 1979 and I returned to Pampa and my three sons graduated from Pampa High School.

I was on staff at First Baptist Church in Pampa for 10 years. I was first Pre-School director and helped to start the Child Development Center at the church which I directed. In 1989 I moved to Canyon, Texas and taught school at Lakeside Elementary for two years and received my Master’s degree in Education and Professional counseling,

from West Texas A&M University in May 1991. In July 1991, I married Bill Skinner. He is a farmer and we live 7 miles north of Lothair, Montana. We are only 30 miles South of the Canadian Border and 100 miles East of Glacier National Park. I have learned to drive his Rubber Track Caterpillar, the Combine and all the trucks to haul wheat. We still do all the farming ourselves so it keeps both of us busy. We plant only Winter and Spring wheat. I also do some counseling, teach Sunday School and am active in my church. (40 miles away at Shelby, MT) If you ever come this way we would love to have you come see us. If you drive to Alaska you will probably go through Shelby and cross into Canada at the Sweetgrass crossing so we are only 40 miles East of that so come see us.
