1. James and I celebrated 40 years of marriage
in the Dominican Republic while I was there on business.

My family moved to Pampa when I was in fifth grade at Sam Houston. I attended the downtown junior high sixth through ninth grades. During my sophomore year at Pampa High, my family moved to Gainesville, Texas, where I graduated from high school a year early in 1956.

I taught elementary school for seven years before I married James Boardman from St. Louis, MO. We graduated with our masters the same year from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. My husband is a minister and we served in churches in IN, CO, and AL. In 1977, I started working at the International Headquarters for the Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, MO as an editor of early childhood Sunday School curriculum. I did that for 20 years from wherever we lived.

In 1998, I was elected General Director of Children's Ministries for the Church of the Nazarene. That involved a move to the Kansas City area. We live in Olathe, KS. My husband is a hospice chaplain for St. Luke's Health System. I have traveled and spoken in nine countries outside the US and in 35 states.

We have two sons, Chuck in Harselle, AL and Todd in Reno, NV. Chuck has our two grandchildren, Courtney (14) and Austin (9).

I will be in Grand Rapids on the date of the reunion. I regret I will not be able to attend and renew acquaintances. Hopefully, there will be a 55-year reunion. We will be retired by then, so perhaps we could attend. I have fond memories of my school days in Pampa. I was back in Pampa in December 2003 to bury my mom who was 99 1/2 years old.

Thank you, Luther, for your work on the web site. I am enjoying reading the bios and seeing the pictures. Thanks, Delma, for posting the pictures. The one I am in certainly brought back many memories--like the sextet we sang in with Cynthia Duncan at the piano. Do you have a picture of that?
