Larry Hendricks, Class of 1957, Pampa High School After graduation from Pampa High, I received my degree in Dairy Industry at Texas Tech University. There I met my wife of 43 years, Sue. I pursued my career in the dairy manufacturing business, retiring in 2000 after 40 plus years in the industry. My job required us to move around a lot and my last position found us in Lubbock, TX. So since our daughters (Judy and Beth) and our granddaughter Carolyn live in Lubbock, we made the decision to stay here. We have built a metal building out in the middle of 10 acres, 22 miles south of Lubbock. We store our motorhome on one side of the building and have a home in the other side. We enjoy traveling, Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball, our granddaughter and her horse (she barrel races), and our dog “Birdie”. We also enjoy our RV site in Alto, NM where we spend a lot of time in the summer. I have continued my music hobby, having had a band in college and taking up the steel guitar. I have been privileged to go to Nashville, TN to attend a school and shortly before my retirement I pursued yet another degree in music (the steel guitar) at South Plains College. I am a member of the Texas Steel Guitar Association and attend their conventions in Dallas every year. This year I even went to the International Steel Guitar convention in St. Louis, MO. I am a member of the “Good News Band” in Ruidoso, NM. We play at the senior citizens center each Thursday and at the J Bar J Country Church on Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings. This year we are playing a return engagement at the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. |
