Tom Gindorf and Beth Spencer Gindorf
Beth and I are still going strong after 45 years of happy marriage. The attached picture was taken on Kauai, Hawaii.( which we have visited about a dozen times). This is the place where Mitzi Gaynor was washing that man out of her hair and that is Bali Hai in the background through the Banyan tree. We have 3 grown children who are all happily married and 10  terrific grand children. I retired in 2000 after 37 years of working for the California Institute of Technology at their Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In one way or another I participated on almost all of the spacecraft the Lab built or managed for NASA until I retired, starting with the Ranger spacecraft which impacted the moon through the multiple missions to the inner and outer planets. I managed the Reliability Engineering activity for almost 2 decades and retired as a NASA program manager for Electronic Parts and Packaging as well as the JPL program manager for Assurance Programs. It was a fun career with lots of interesting technical and management challenges.I always enjoyed the work, but since I have retired I haven't missed it at all. Beth and I are having too much fun to even think about it plus I don't have to fly back and forth to Washington every 2 weeks as I was doing. Although we still travel a lot to Kauai, British Colombia, Texas, and occasionally to Europe.
I retired early so Beth and I could enjoy our wonderful family, each other, our involvement in Church activities and play golf. I coerced Beth into playing golf and taught her how about 20 years ago. It must have worked because she has held multiple club championships at 4 different country clubs. She can out drive most men with the driver I made for her and use to enjoy playing from the men's tees and trouncing the guys when we were in Southern California. We now live further north, about 15 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. We really enjoy the small town environment after so many years in the LA basin. Our youngest son and his family (6 grandkids) live here so we stay very busy. Our other children are 4 hours away in LA.
Beth and I have enjoyed a wonderful life as the Lord has richly blessed us in every way imaginable. We have many fond memories of our time growing up in Pampa and all of the classmates through the years. We look forward to the next reunion. I would like to make one request and that is that the dates be established and announced early so that everyone can plan around them with their busy schedules and travel plans, many of which are made a year in advance.
