in Alaska

Alaska

I met my true love, Jim Dougherty in Las Cruces, NM, 1959. We both graduated from NMSU. We still live here.

We married in 1961 and are living happily-ever-after as I write. I acquired a Masters of Degree in Education making it possible for me to joyfully teach school for 25 years. 6th grade was my choice and I loved it.

We retired at age 53 and began “doing that nasty job someone has to do”… namely being “retired”. Jim’s hobby is “serious machining” (in the garage thank goodness) and mine is china painting and fooling around.

After retirement our traveling began (about 7 years) vagabonding about the Southwest with an artist couple visiting art shows. There was not an Indian artifact or ruin we didn’t fondle. Our next big travel experience embraced cruising (and we do it very well) with Jim’s brother and sister-in-law. Some of our adventures took us to; Alaska, The Baltic, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Bermuda, Germany, France and Scotland/ Ireland/England. The Scotland cruise will take place where this reunion is in full swing.

So….. wishing a good life to “ALL THE ANGELS SENT FROM HEAVEN, THE CLASS OF ‘57”. If you are ever in Las Cruces, New Mexico call us
