After graduation I attended Draughns Business College in Amarillo along with Melvena Beck, Glenda Brunson, Sally Pullen, and Fern Yates. I was pretty shy in high school, but these girls became friends. Sally Pullen and I roomed together in an ‘old folk’s home’. Not really, but mother wanted me in an all female apartment house and we were the only ones living there under the age of 60. Those old women gave us a time because of the noise and music, but we survived and had lots of fun. Funny to realize that today I am one of those ‘old women’.

I married Travis Taylor June 14, 1958. We’ll soon be celebrating our 50th. It’s been a wonderful life full of God’s blessings and Travis has fulfilled all my dreams. We have three children. Our son is the Treasurer for American Quarter Horse and our two daughters are teachers. We have nine grandchildren. They are all beautiful and talented, naturally!

Travis had his own accounting firm and I worked with him until we retired in 2001. Since retirement we have been traveling in our new motor home. It’s been fun to see and visit our beautiful nation, but it’s also good to return home to our friends, family and church.
